In 2020 the director Mohanad, who was living in diaspora in Sweden, visited Palestine to shoot a TV documentary for Al Jazeera. Due to the Covid pandemic, he can´t travel and moves in with his mother in the family house. He starts searching for old family archives hoping to find the last remaining footage of his father who passed away in 2012. He soon discovers that the family tapes have been thrown away. Saddened by this news the director starts filming his family members to make sure there will be an archive left for the younger generation of the family. Over the next five years we get to follow the Salahat family as their reality progresses from living under occupation to surviving an apartheid regime. After Mohanad survives an assination attempt on a mountain top next to the village where he grew up, his life and outside gaze now becomes an inner struggle that he and his family are forced to face. Will they in the near future have a place to call home?
