Water night (In progress)

75 minutes

Director: Mohanad Salahat

Producer: Kassandra Smith

The directors family is living in a small town in the countryside of Nablus called Talluza. On the map, the town is divided into two halves, one part located in what is referred to as Area A which officially is under Palestinian control, and the other part now situated in Area C which means it is under Israeli control. This is also the part of the village where all of the water resources were and are located.

This documentary follows the familiy memebrs in Talluza who are by all means trying to live a “normal life” but in the context of conflict and occupation. The lack of access to water has become a political playground for both the occupying power as well as the local authorities in the backdrop of climate change. For the directors family as for so many others the lack of water might become the last challenge that will push them all over the edge and be the reason that coming generations wont have a place called home.
